Michel Ferland, a 40 year veteran of the hockey industry has also agreed to a 5 year employee contract as Protective Equipment Product Manager for Combat Sports.
“As we continue our growth as a company in to new product categories outside of our core business of hockey sticks and baseball bats, we looked for a partner that could provide us with the same expertise in hockey protective development that our current design and engineering team have. Combat will also use the new manufacturing facility for product development in its Diamond Sports Division and newly launched Lacrosse Division.
“Michel’s 40 years of experience in pro hockey equipment development is now being offered to the end user through our new line of high-end glove and pant product. The MICHEL FERLAND LEGACY…
In every industry, there are innovators and there are followers. The hockey industry is no different. The story of Michel Ferland is one of an innovator, a pioneer who has helped shape the business of protective hockey equipment since the mid 1970’s.
Since the inception of the “Ferland” brand in 1975, Michel has proven to be a leader and an innovator in the very competitive hockey industry. Probably the greatest testament to his ability as an industrial designer was having over 180 NHL players wearing his equipment including 20 Montreal Canadians (at the same time) in the late 1970’s. Michel has certainly established himself as one of the greatest industrial designers the hockey industry has seen and his legacy will now continue as he joins the Combat Sports team.
Michel has already left his mark in Hockey with several of his products being featured in the Hockey Hall of Fame; this new chapter in his career promises to take the Michel Ferland Legacy from memorable to LEGENDARY…
